Reception
The handsome, wide entrance door to The Cliffs ushers visitors and residents into a reception area reminiscent of a fine country inn. Our receptionist greets everyone and responds to residents’ requests, while monitoring the video security systems around the building. Often, residents decorate the reception area according to the seasons and to upcoming holidays. In this way, our community makes the reception area welcoming to everyone – certainly including residents themselves, who come here to access their mailboxes and to meet visiting family and friends.
Great Room
Just beyond the Reception Area is the Great Room, the hub of many activities at The Cliffs at Eagle Rock. It’s beautifully appointed with a fireplace, comfortable seating, elegant grand piano and adjoining library. It’s not surprising, then, that the Great Room has become a favorite spot for our residents and guests… a place for music, reading, conversation, even solitary musing. Its generous windows and access to the Courtyard and Rear Patio give a wonderful sense of outdoor space intersecting with indoor coziness and security.
Courtyard
Within the quadrangle that forms our building, we designed more than half an acre of garden space, visible and accessible from many of our common areas. This oasis of serenity is used for strolling, sitting, gardening, and dining. It brings the outdoors indoors, even when weather conditions may discourage people from venturing outside. It also provides natural light to many interior spaces, adding to the open, family-home feeling that makes The Cliffs such an exceptional assisted living facility. You can find residents tending our small but ample vegetable and herb garden, the produce of which is used by kitchen staff for resident menus.
Dining Room
The beautifully appointed Main Dining Room has two sections, the larger with a capacity of about 50 and the smaller section accommodating an additional 38… so there’s always plenty of room for families and visitors. Windows from these areas look into the interior courtyard, imparting serenity and elegance to the dining experience. The Main Dining Room serves three delicious meals a day; other special dining occasions include display cooking buffets and monthly ‘family style’ dining events. Residents can choose to eat in the Main Dining Room proper or outside, when the weather is pleasant. They can also reserve a private dining room for special occasions, and room service is available if needed. Our staff dietitian consults with new residents to ensure that their medical requirements and food preferences are included in meal planning.
Country Kitchen
A unique feature of The Cliffs at Eagle Rock is the Country Kitchen… cozy, intimate, and ready for any occasion. There’s always a pot of coffee for guests and a cookie for good little (and big) grandchildren. It’s the place where residents and visitors often gather to share food and fond memories –a favored venue by residents for games and socializing with both old and new friends. Its intimate feel is enhanced by direct access to the Courtyard; its Heritage Wall – filled with memorabilia from the facility’s 100-year-old history – adds to a comforting feeling of continuity and generational respect A full sized stove & oven provides the opportunity for residents and family to prepare old time favorites for themselves or their grandchildren, furthering a sense of home and independence.
Physical Therapy Room
Rounding out the versatile and active common areas on the first floor is the Activity Room that also serves as a Physical Therapy Arena to our full-time physical therapy staff provided by Fox Therapy. As a hub of creative and healing energy, you will always find it an active place.
Media Room
Adjacent to both the Reception area and Activity Room is our Media Room where residents are enriched by varied programs, including lectures, demonstrations, memorial services.
Colonnade & Enclosed Sun Porch
Originally designed as a way for residents to access the Chapel in inclement weather, the covered, glass-enclosed Colonnade and walkway has also become a welcome place to rest, chat, read, or simply observe the front campus from the peace and comfort of an attractive sheltered area.
